Pelham Daily Sports Digest: Gabow Wins Athletic Award for Loomis Chaffee

Pelham resident Lindsay Gabow is currently a senior at Loomis Chaffee in Windsor Connecticut and recently the athletic department, varsity athletes and their parents and coaches gathered to honor the Pelican fall athletes.
Gabow received an athletic award from the school for her incredible fall season on the school’s cross country team. Loomis Chaffee did very well in several competitions and Gabow was key to the success of the Pelicans. On Nov. 12 in the Division 1 New England Prep School Cross Country Championships Gabow came in with a time of 19:23, which was good enough to finish in sixth place in the competition and it helped the team capture third place. The senior received all New England honors for her effort.

On Nov. 5 Gabow also was All-Founders thanks to her sixth place finish in the Founders League Championships. The Team finished in second place in the meet.
Loomis Chaffee has a rich athletic tradition that Gabow is now a part of, and her athletic award from the school is undoubtedly a stepping stone to a very bright future.

Highlights: Pelham’s Vittoria Volpe led all scorers with 10 points in the game. Gabrielle Pinto had six points in the loss.

Game: Pelham vs. Roosevelt
Score: Pelham Won 57-31
Highlights: Matt Henson led all scorers with 20 points and Lance Stokes added 16 for the Pelicans. Marvin Bates led Roosevelt with 11 points in the loss.
Sport: Girls Basketball
Game: Roosevelt vs. Pelham
Score: Pelham Won 43-26
Highlights: Christina Elezaj led Pelham with 13 points in the win. Hivelize Escobar had 16 points for Roosevelt.
