The Fulton Avenue Bridge that connects Pelham Manor to Mount Vernon is days away from re-opening, according Westchester County Executive Robert Astorino.
"The Fulton Avenue Bridge is hopefully, less than a week away from being operational," Astorino said during Wednesday's "Ask Astorino" meeting at the .
The drawbridge, which was built 38 years ago, connects Mount Vernon to Route 1 in addition to the area's major retail corridor. It has been out of commission since June 12, when it became stuck at a 15-degree angle.

Coast Guard regulations require that the waterway be kept accessible for maritime traffic at all times.
Workers from the county’s department of public works are now doing $160,000 worth of repairs to fix bridge’s drives, the multi component electronic controllers for the motors, along with the main resistors and cut off switches.
The county is currently in the process of developing a plan for long-term fixes to the bridge, which are estimated to cost between $4 million to $7 million. Those plans are at least a year away from taking place.
