Corn King; Coney Night Maze; Glenda Davenport and a Book Sale

Master Corn Griller, the “Corn King,” Pono Wong with his hand-made barrel 
roaster will be at the Ridge Hill Farmers Market in Yonkers on Friday afternoon, offering sample tastings of fresh roasted corn.

There is a massive art exhibit, "Coney Night Maze," at the Neuberger Museum of Art at SUNY Purchase, just up King Street. Inspired by the landmark roller coaster on Coney Island, "The Cyclone," with its hairpin turns and stomach lifting plummets is a sculptural installation, "Coney Night Maze" is an exhibition that runs through Sept. 15.

Jazz vocalist Glenda Davenport and her trio will perform at Alvin & Friends 
restaurant, 14 Memorial Highway in New Rochelle, on Friday, Aug. 9 at 9:30 p.m. She's performed at The Apollo Theatre and Caramoor and has recorded two CDs.

The Marine Education Center at Harbor Island Park in New Rochelle will be open at 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Aug. 10. There's plenty to do with exploring fish tanks, photographs, microscopes and fishing.
